The U.S. attacks Iran, Anthropic stands its ground with the Department of “War” as ChatGPT steps in (with the same guardrails Anthropic insisted on) and The State of the Union. (Bonus: We’ll review NYT front page coverage of the State of the Union for the past 10 years. It definitely caught us by surprise. Click here for the .pdfs.)

Sree Sreenivasan and Neil Parekh are hosting Ep. 389 of The Sunday #NYTReadalong. As we write this Saturday morning, one can only imagine what the situation in Iran will be like Sunday morning. (The attacks started at 1:00am ET.) A quick observation from our Prague-based colleague, Zach Peterson: The Washington Post took three hours to put the story online, and led with wire service copy. Zach helps Sree write his weekly newsletter, Sree’s Sunday Note.)

We will be live at 8:30 a.m. ET, 1:30 p.m. GMT and 7:00 p.m. IST. If you miss the show, you can always watch the replay, right on this page.

ICYMI Our friend, Prof. Walter Greason, joined us at the top of the show to offer his thoughts on the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson. Click here to watch.
