Detria Everson, President and CEO of the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation, will be the guest for our February 2 edition of @Sree’s Sunday #NYTReadalong.

I will be the guest host. Feb. 21 would have been Rep. John Lewis’ 85th Birthday. Detria will share details on how the Foundation is honoring his legacy. It’s also the start of Black History Month.

We will be live at 8:30 a.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. GMT / 7:00 p.m. IST (Sunday morning in the US, Sunday afternoon in the UK and Sunday evening in India). If you miss the live show, you can always watch the replay, right on this page.

The Foundation’s mission is to promote the legacy of John and Lillian Miles Lewis, and to carry on the work they started, focused on democracy and voting, youth civic engagement and building bridges.

Among other projects, Detria will tell us about the #JohnLewisSelfie social media campaign, the relaunch of the Good Trouble learning experience by Minecraft Education, and a new hip hop musical focusing on John Lewis’ younger years, YOUNG JOHN LEWIS, which will debut this summer.

Next week (February 9), we will take the gloves off and turn our attention to politics and the Trump Administration. Nirmal Ghosh, author of the newly released “Backlash: Donald Trump and the Remaking of America,” will be our guest.

Last week, Amy Virshup, Travel Editor for The New York Times, joined us for a special #NYTReadalong focused on “52 Places to Go.” We also reviewed the NYT for Kids
