#AJCReadalong | Ernie Suggs (Author, Reporter on Race and Culture)

This week we will be hosting a special #AJCReadalong, focused on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. This show is a special project produced in partnership with the AJC. Our guest is Ernie Suggs, a reporter covering race and culture, and author of "The Many Lives of Andrew Young." Neil Parekh is the guest host. At the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ernie helps to curate Unapologetically ATL, a weekly newsletter that explores the stories, trends and events shaping Black culture in Atlanta, aka A-Town, Black Mecca, Wakanda, Black Hollywood or simply The A.

“The Many Lives of Andrew Young” tells the inspiring, dramatic story of a civil rights hero, congressman, ambassador, mayor, and American icon. It covers his childhood in New Orleans to Howard University as a boy of 15, from his work as a young pastor in Alabama to his leadership role in the SCLC, from serving as the first Black congressman from Georgia since Reconstruction to serving as the ambassador to the United Nations, from two transformational terms as mayor of Atlanta to co-chairmanship of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, from co-founding Good Works International to promoting human rights across the globe with the Andrew Young Foundation.

We will also explore The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Press On initiative, a multimedia campaign that highlights several AJC journalists and what makes them press on with their work, especially given the challenges in today’s news business.

Regular viewers will know that we usually feature The New York Times; the show's official name is Sree's Sunday #NYTReadalong.

Occasionally, we focus on other publications. We have previously hosted shows highlighting The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Chicago Sun-Times, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail (Toronto), Politico, The Dallas Morning News and the Khaleej Times (Dubai).

The show is produced by Digimentors. We produce high-quality virtual and hybrid events for organizations big and small around the world. We also do social and digital consulting, training and workshops.
