We are back after the Thanksgiving Break. This week, we will focus on NYT Cooking’s Special Holiday Cookies Pano-8 (download the .pdf); redistricting; the potential war crimes related to the U.S. military strikes in the Caribbean; the latest on immigration and the latest news.
What stories are you following?
Sree Sreenivasan will be back in the big chair on Sunday, leading the discussion. I will produce the show AND review the paper with him.
This Sunday’s show is Episode 380. We are celebrating our 10th year producing the #NYTReadalong. We will be live at 8:30 a.m. ET, 1:30 p.m. GMT and 7:00 p.m. IST. If you miss the show, you can always watch the replay, right on this page.

A little background on the artwork: Rather than just one wide photo of the cookies in the center, the NYT decided to give each cookie its own quadrant based on its inspiration. For instance, the Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies wanted to evoke the taste of a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone, the Mortadella Cookies were presented on a party board and the Dark 'N' Stormy Cookies were in a cocktail tumbler. Together, the seven inspired cookies were made to feel like a single continuous image.
Sree’s Sunday #NYTReadalong has a new format and several new features
60 Minutes: We have shortened the show to a crisp 60 minutes, ending at 9:30am ET.
Occasional Guests / More Time with the Newspaper: We will still have guests on occasion, but we will spend more time focusing on the journalism we have come to love (and occasionally question).
Viewer Input: We will also solicit more of your input.
Spotify / Apple Podcasts: We have launched the audio podcast version of the #NYTReadalong on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. We will upload each week’s episode shortly after the show is over. In addition to recent episodes, we have about 15 of our favorites from our archives.
New Sponsor: We also have a new sponsor the Graphic History Company led by Prof. Walter Greason and Tim Fielder.
