Southern Poverty Law Center
Client Case Study
We work collaboratively with the Southern Poverty Law Center on a monthly basis to create and continually refine a comprehensive social media strategy through a multi-pronged approach that aligns social media goals with key business objectives.
THE CHALLENGE
SPLC approached Digimentors with two separate requests.
The first was to plan and produce a one-time, high-visibility livestream event to celebrate the center’s 50th anniversary.
The second request was for ongoing digital and social media support while building a skilled social team.
THE SOLUTION
We applied a thorough approach to first identify the best way to present SPLC's incredible work over a 50-year period, managed and executed the production of content, and coordinated the promotion across channels.
Our work continued after the event with a comprehensive social audit, strategy and implementation, and ongoing support to ensure the team is set up for success. We continue to provide social media workshops and training, help maintain a robust social media calendar, and regularly update detailed process documents to help steer SPLC's digital team and bring on new team members.
HOW WE DID IT
Solution 1: Production of 50th Anniversary Celebration
We joined a committee of internal stakeholders as project managers to plan and execute a 50th anniversary livestream gala featuring high profile speakers, interviews and entertainment acts. We planned, coordinated and produced a video highlight reel featuring SPLC’s work over the course of 50 years. We assisted with securing high profile speakers and talent. We produced and directed a high-quality, multi-camera virtual production with graphics which streamed to a closed website and social media.
Solution 2: Monthly digital and social media support
We began with a comprehensive social media audit and evaluated SPLC’s social handles. Based on the audit, we came up with an extensive list of recommendations which would form the foundation of SPLC’s social strategy. We created a social media roadmap with the goal of placing the organization at the center of social conversations around their impact areas. We then worked alongside team members to develop compelling, thoughtful, and unique social media content to elevate the organization’s voice and strengthen their position as a thought leader. We led the hiring process to place key social media positions within the organization. We created organization-wide workflow processes focused on social and digital media output. We are working with SPLC's team on an ongoing basis to ensure they are making their impact known to the world.
